After crossing the XXIst century threshold, we experience essential social, economical changes. We become free and open. In my opinion, at present the Cultural Centre is a good place for gathering and having mature cultural events for community unification and for people, who have different attitudes or beliefs.
Wonderful and creative specialists work at Kupiškis Cultural Centre. They sensitively feel a pulse of time and people's needs, too.
Everybody knovvs that those in time people become friends and 'crystallize' themselves because usually they are lead by common ideas as well. In this way, they become not only colleagues but associates, too. In my opinion, l consider an honour to lead the team of the associates.
International Festivals such as 'Lingaudala' (in Kupiškis), Country Theatre Festival 'Dandelion's Wine', Dandelion's Honey' and 'Dandelion's Down' (in Skapiškis) call the crowds of people together. Spectators like Republican Festivals organized at the Cultural Centre, such as 'Rain of Songs', Modern Dance Festival 'Flight', Sacred Music and Theatre Festival The Soul's Longing' at Palėvenė Monastery. Whitsunday Festival in Sepeta resounds alvvays merrily. In addition, a tradition of many years standing still continues in Šimonys because of celebrating the Great Assumption Church Festival. Other club institutions also are looking for their original cultural image and the ways to the visitors' hearts.
VVhile matching along the roads of Old Europe we have to maintain our old traditions and customs cherish invaluable and authentic heritage and look for the ways so that we could present and hand down our generations' heritage to the youth.
